Apple - Year 1
Mrs Walshaw and Mrs Rose

Teaching Team
Mrs Walshaw is the class teacher on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs Rose is the class teacher on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Mrs Teed and Mrs Kirkpatrick are our fabulous Teaching Assistants!
Tuesday 5th September
We cannot wait to welcome you all back to school!
Please line up along the line next to the fence, facing the classroom door. We will come out in the morning to meet the children and then take them in to explore our newly decorated classroom!
At the end of the day, please wait on the playground outside Apple and we will send children to you. In the first 2 weeks, we will be getting to know who everyone is so do bear with us if it takes a bit longer to release the class. On the first day only, parents can come in and see the children’s new room. Mrs Walshaw has a meeting at 3.45pm but everyone is welcome to pop in between 3.30pm and 3.45pm
Daily Timetable –
Sycamore class starts the day at 8.55am and pick up is at 3.30pm.

DT: We are going to be learning about drawing designs and how to join materials to make strong frames.
RE: We will be learning about Creation and linking this to Harvest.
PE: We will be learning to control our bodies and move around quickly and in creative ways!
Current home-learning expectations
Spellings: To be updated soon.
Reading: Your child’s reading pouch will be needed in school every day, complete with their reading tree and current home book. We ask that you read for five minutes every evening so that each reading book is read three times. Books will be changed every Monday.
It is also very important to share a range of children’s stories to expand your child’s vocabulary as well as promoting a life-long love of reading. We’d like to encourage you to record the stories you share in your Reading Trees. We love hearing their recommendations too!
