Official pool opening
Yesterday we officially opened the refurbished school pool.
What a lucky school we are! Just look at the fantastic new facilities we have:
- A fancy new enclosure;
- New changing rooms.
- New steps into the pool.
- A shower and toilet.
- New flooring.
- New paving surround.
- A new boiler and dehumidifiers.
We live by the sea, so this facility is so important for life skills, fitness and just having fun.
But
we are lucky for a reason. It is because of the fantastic group of people that have contributed in so many different ways to provide such a great swimming pool.
Thank you to all the people/organisations that are listed at the end, and everyone how has paid for a tile/swam to raise money. We are eternally grateful.
There are some individuals that deserve a very special thanks.
The WARM WISH GROUP who have raised the most enormous sum of money to provide you with this pool.
- Jane Hushon
- Sarah Cotton
- Gary Dobel
- Sarah Gilbody
- Frankie Hartnell
- Gill Moger-Taylor
- Kirsty Craib
In particular Julie Cotton, who has worked tirelessly with the Warm Wish group to raise the funds.
The Diocese of Exeter– for their guidance and funding.
- Raymond Twohig, Schools Capital Funding Adviser
- Jason Down, Diocesan Schools Surveyor
- Richard Power, Diocesan Schools Surveyor
The School Governors – William, John, Malcolm, Marcus Allen, Vicki Stone.
And last but not least…….Jane Hushon.
Jane is absolutely instrumental in running and supporting this pool. We are one of around only 5 schools in Devon to have a pool. With the Warm Wish funding, and Jane overseeing, we thank them with all our hearts.
The children celebrated the opening with an all-day fun swim!
