The curriculum for this term
This half term, Rowan class will start by finishing their topic from last half term – rivers. We will remember what the features of rivers are called and recap the new vocabulary we learnt such as ‘meander’ and ‘source’. We will learn about rivers such as the Exe – Where is the source? Where is the mouth of the Exe? What is the history of the Exe? etc.
After we have finished the rivers block, we will move onto our prehistory topic. We will start in the Ice Age and travel through time until we are in the Iron Age. At each stage (Ice Age, Stone age, Bronze Age and Iron Age), we will learn about the way life changed, how the planet itself changed and how humans adapted to living socially together in more complex societies.
In science, we will learn about rocks which will tie nicely in with prehistory where we can examine fossils of prehistoric animals!
