Number Formation Practise
This week in school we have been learning rhymes to help us write our numbers correctly. Your child will have brought home a piece of paper to help them remember the rhymes. Please support your child at home by practising the ones they find tricky together.
Doodle Maths is a fun app where your child can earn rewards for practising core Maths skills. How many stars can you collect? This game cleverly adapts the questions to suit your child’s next steps so it is best played without a grown up’s help.

Read Write Inc.
It is important for your child’s reading progress for them to practise their RWI bookbag books three times for each story. This helps them to practise their accuracy, fluency and comprehension.
When you are sharing the RWI home stories, try to practise getting quicker at the Red and Green words in the front and back of the books. Can your child beat their fastest time for reading all of the red words? How many red words can they write in one minute? Can they beat their score the following day? All great practise!
Cedar Class starts the day at 8:45 and pick up is at 3:15.
Swimming is on Thursdays so please send a named swimming kit to school.
PE is on Mondays so please send your child to school in their PE kit.
RWI books are changed on Mondays. Please help us to remind your child to leave their pouch in the book boxes on the playground when they arrive on Mondays.
Library books are handed out on Fridays so they need to be returned to the red box outside the office by Thursday.
Miss Evans’s Art Club will begin on Monday 26th April from 3:15 to 4:15.
Cedar and Sycamore Virtual Library
We would like to do something for the children who are missing out on being able to celebrate their birthdays with pals in the current climate.
So… we are going to have a big birthday bash on the last Friday of every month to celebrate all the children who have had a birthday in that month.
All the children in the class will be invited to come to school in their party clothes and we will have some dancing, party games and treats.
We hope this will go some way towards making life a bit more normal for them and giving them a birthday celebration with their friends.
Children who have had birthdays in Sept, Oct and Nov will be celebrated at the end on November.
Our next Party Friday is going to be on Friday 2nd July.
Any other information?
Don’t forget to upload a photo on Tapestry if there is something your Reception child would like to share with us!
