Reading

Sharing a range of books with your child at home is a great way to connect and promote a love of reading. We hope that you will enjoy borrowing books from our ‘Nursery library’ which can be found on the bench near the Nursery entrance.

Other key information for this term:

Swimming will be on Wednesday mornings this term. Please can you make sure you always pack a named swimming costume/trunks, towel, and hat.

Forest School is taking place on Wednesday afternoons. Please provide named wet weather clothing and wellies. If you don’t have access to appropriate clothing, please contact us and we can source items for you.

Our Physical and PSED development programme called ‘Sherbourne’ will continue to take place each day in the school hall. It is an excellent session that supports children’s physical strength, coordination, and balance as well as friendships and listening skills.

Focus Weeks
Focus weeks will begin in the third week of term 1, once we have settled all the returning and new children into Nursery. We will be in touch via tapestry the week before your child’s week with more information and to arrange a time to meet with you.

Clothes
Please dress your child in clothes that are practical and comfortable. We do not use aprons so please send your child in items you don’t mind getting, wet, muddy and painted! Shoes need to be appropriate for climbing, running, and preferably Velcro-fastened to encourage independence. This term we en-devour to be outside as much as possible, so please send in any all-weather clothing or wellies.

Water bottles
Please provide a named water bottle with ONLY water in each session for your child.

Lunches

We are an Eco-School and ask for minimal (if any) packaging to be used in packed lunches. Cooked school lunches are available for Nursery children. They are £2.75 a sitting and can be booked and paid for via School Gateway. Please contact the office for login details.
