Feedback from council on road safety
I contacted the Council to find out if we could have a zebra crossing installed. I received some helpful feedback including that we must let the Council know of any incidents outside the school. They say: “Zebra Crossings are always the last resort, they are expensive to install and funding has to be made available. Funding is only made available if there is a history of recordable incidents and I can confirm thankfully we have not had any incidents outside the school. If you feel that drivers are compromising the safety of pupils then this becomes a Police matter so it maybe worth you contacting the local PCSO for the area.”
So short of any real accident happening, please do report any near-misses to us, and we will send a log to the Council. Thank you.
