Willow - Year 2/3

32 Thin Gold Weeping Willow Tree Cuttings to Grow | eBay

Welcome to Willow Class, 2025/2026.

Class Teachers – Mrs Rose (Mon and Tues) and Mrs Hume (Wed, Thurs and Fri).

Mrs Morrish, Mrs Burch and Mrs Griffith are our wonderful support teachers.

Please provide your child with a class pencil case containing the following: coloured pens, a rubber, a pencil sharpener, a ruler, and scissors. We will provide writing pencils, a handwriting pen and a whiteboard pen.

What happens during the week?

Book change day – Monday. A lovely volunteer comes in on a Monday to change the RWI books, so please ensure they are in.  If your child is a Free Reader, they are responsible for changing their own books. There is a selection of books outside Willow classroom.  Free Readers still need to read aloud to an adult, with the focus being on their comprehension and expression.

PE – Monday afternoon with Mrs Rose and Friday afternoon during the first half of the Summer term, they will have tennis with Dave from LED (supported by Mrs Hume).

Forest School – No FS in the Summer term.

Swimming – Thursday morning (Is anyone available to be the swimming spotter so the teachers can stay in class and teach the children who are not swimming?)

Please ensure all kits and uniforms are named, if possible! This makes the end-of-the-day routine smoother and quicker.

Library – Friday.

Spelling test – Friday

Home Learning

  • Daily reading practice.
  • Spelling practice to help them be ready for their weekly test. Please check Google Classroom every week.  New spellings go live at 16:00 every Friday.
  • Maths – https://play.ttrockstars.com/   and/or  https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Finally, if your child requires any medication, please ensure this is also brought to school on the first day of term. Thank you
