KS2 attend the BSO Secrets and Codes Concert
Last Friday, pupils from Rowan, Chestnut, Beech, Ash and Oak spent the afternoon listening to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the Great Hall at Exeter University. Pieces performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra included John William’s Star Wars Imperial March, Shostakovich’s 2nd movement from his 10th Symphony, Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra 2nd movement and Wagner’s Siegfried’s Rhine Journey.
The pupils also performed a series of body percussion, sign language and singing as part of 3 orchestral pieces relating to hidden secrets and codes within the music.
Thank you to Mr Moger-Taylor for teaching the children their musical contributions to the performance and to all the volunteers who gave up their time to accompany the children on this trip.
