Pupil Premium: Action needed

Dear Parents,

The pupil premium is additional funding to raise the attainment of eligible pupils of all abilities.

St Peter’s parental feedback about Pupil Premium

“Both my children have received Pupil Premium funding for several years. Their experience at St Peter’s has definitely been improved as a result.  The free school meals obviously save the family money but, more importantly, the children have been able to join in with school trips and clubs that would have been very difficult for us otherwise, and to have music lessons that simply wouldn’t have been an option”    Year 5 parent

“Overnight stays at Escot and the big Year 6 trip to London were sizeable costs that we were especially glad to have help with.  All these extra activities were so important for shaping my children’s confidence and skills, and the payments were always arranged without fuss and without anyone else needing to know.”  Year 5 parent

“The services the school were able to offer were enhanced by the funding when they both had emotional issues.  They were given support and learned how to cope. It’s a win-win.” Year 5 parent

“My child has had the opportunity to have weekly peripatetic guitar lessons since the end of Year 2, which I would not have been able to afford otherwise,  He is loving it. He has had extra help in his learning, including Mathematics, and he is now happier with his learning and much more confident.” Year 3 Parent

I want my child/children to have these opportunities and for my family to be supported.  How do I apply?

Apply using the Devon County Council Citizen Portal: https://oneonline.devon.gov.uk/CCSCitizenPortal_LIVE/Account/Login

I don’t think I will be eligible?

The benefits far outweigh the short time need to complete the online form.  You will get an instant decision. Even if you think you might not qualify, you may be surprised!  Each year a significant group of parents don’t realise they qualify – missing out on vital resources for their child and the school.

You must complete the online form by Wednesday 15th May 2019.  We strongly recommend that you start this process as early as possible in case there is a technical error or you need to check some information – please do not leave it until Wednesday evening!

Pupils in Nursery

The application process is different for pupils in Nursery but the deadline remains the same – a letter will be sent out this week.
