In the run up to Christmas we are arranging a ‘Reverse Advent’ in each classroom. This will begin on Monday 20th November and will continue until Friday 15th December. Each day one or two children from the class will add an item of food to the classroom collection box.
Suggestions for items are as follows: Cereals, tinned tomatoes, beans/spaghetti, dried potatoes (smash), tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned meat/meat pies, tinned fruit, tinned custard, rice pudding, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, squash, long life milk, pasta sauces, curry sauces and treats such as biscuits and chocolate bars. Non food items such as washing powder, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and toilet rolls are also welcomed.
On the last day of term the food will be donated to Exmouth Food Larder which serves the local area, including Budleigh Salterton. Your child’s teacher will let you know which day to send in food with your child. However, the donations are of course entirely optional. Please do not hesitate to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions regarding this. Thank you in advance for your support.
