Stockland Cross Country Trials Friday 22nd September (Lunchtime)

The Stockland Cross Country competition is series of four very competitive and very challenging Cross Country races.  They take place at at Stockland VC (C of E) Primary School, Stockland, Nr. Honiton, EX14 9EF.

On Friday 22nd September, we will be holding trials to determine who will represent the school in the races.  The trials will consist of a multi-lap race which will be between 1200 metres and 1500 metres long.

Your child will need running trainers with suitable grip for wet/muddy conditions, their PE kit, a water bottle and warm clothing and wet weather clothing for before and after the race.

We will be entering teams of: four Year 5/6 Girl runners; four Year 5/6 Boy runners; four Year 3/4 Girl runners and four Year 3/4 Boy runners.

Please note that we are not allowed to enter more than four runners in each team – sorry to the pupils who finish 5th in the trials!  Pupils score individual points and team points (there are separate individual and team trophies).  If your child does not run on all four dates then this will significantly affect the team score.

The Stockland Cross Country races are taking place on the following dates:

18th October 2017

22nd November 2017

28th February 2018

21st March 2018

Parents are responsible for transport to/from the event.  However, many parents share transport.  In fact, this year car sharing is essential as one of the fields used for parking is not available this year.

The first race will commence at 16:00 and so pupils must leave school between 14:30 and 14:45 in order to arrive at Stockland Primary School at 15:45.
