Toilet twinning

This term, the school council have decided to raise money to provide toilet facilities in a country less fortunate than ourselves.

This ties nicely into the school value for this term, which is ‘compassion’. We have been looking at the story of the Good Samaritan, and what it means to ‘help thy neighbour’.

The basic idea is that we send some money to get our toilet twinned with another one in a developing country. The money gets used to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in local communities.

One toilet is £60, or a toilet block costs £240. There’s more information at https://www.toilettwinning.org

On Thursday 21st March there will be a talent show and a non uniform day. Everyone will pay £2 to go towards the toilet twinning.

In the afternoon, each class must to something to raise awareness or raise more money for the Toilets.
