Year 5/Year 6 Netball Letter: Invitation only event
Dear Parents,
Your child has been invited to represent St Peter’s Church of England Primary School at the Exmouth Year 5/Year 6 High 5 Netball Festival competition at Exmouth Community College (Green Close cage) on Monday 7th October from 16:00 to 17:30.
This is a festival and so the focus will be on playing lots of games to develop an understanding of the rules and tactics of the game and to improve skills.
Format
Each team must consist of a minimum of seven players and a maximum of nine players. There must be a maximum three boys in the team and a maximum of two boys on court any one time. The pupils who play in each match and their positions will be decided using a High 5 Netball rotation sheet.
Transport
On this occasion we have been able to book a minibus to transport fourteen pupils to/from the event. However, we have invited 21 pupils to the event. Please e-mail plee@sps1.org.uk if you are able to assist with transport.
The team will depart from St Peter’s CoE Primary School at 15:30 and return for 17:45 (approximate).
Staffing and Spectators
As part of our PE and School Sport vision we are encouraging lots of different members of staff to accompany teams to school sport events.
Parents, guardians, grandparents etc are allowed to spectate but only from outside the cage.
Clothing
Your child will need their green PE t-shirt, shorts, trainers, warm clothing (including a waterproof coat) for when not participating. They will also need a full water bottle, a healthy snack e.g. banana and their inhaler/other relevant medication (even if they have not used it recently).
Pupils must not wear any jewellery.
Important Message
We want all the pupils to have fun; we want all the pupils to be good ambassadors for St Peter’s CoE Primary School, including saying “Thank You” to Mrs Kilburn at the end for hosting the event and “Thank You” to all the Young Sport Leaders who support the event; and finally we want all the pupils to give 100% in all the activities – we cannot ask for anymore than their best.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr Lee
Deputy Headteacher
