Remembrance 11th November 2016

On Friday 11th November, at 11:00, all pupils, staff and volunteers at St Peter’s CoE Primary School observed a two minute silence.

A special St Peter’s Remembrance Prayer was read out by some of our pupils who have parents who are serving in the Armed Forces or who have parents who have previously served in the Armed Forces.  Our wreath was held by one of the Year 6 pupils who have been raising money for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

St Peter’s CoE Primary School Remembrance Prayer

Let us pray for all who suffer as a result of conflict,

and ask that God may give them peace.

We ask God that they may each be remembered.

May God give peace.

God give peace.

Let us pray for for all members of the armed forces,

and also remember their children, family and friends.

We ask God that they may return safely.

May God give peace.

God give peace.

Let us pray for civilian women, children and men

whose lives are changed by war.

We ask God that they are helped to rebuild their lives.

May God give peace.

God give peace.

Let us pray for peacemakers and peacekeepers,

who seek to keep this world secure and free;

We ask God that they are protected in their difficult job.

May God give peace.

God give peace.

As we honour the past,

may we put our faith in your future;

for you are the source of life and hope,

now and for ever.

Amen.
