Amazing abseil fundraiser
This weekend, our wonderful PTA arranged an amazing abseil event at Haytor, on Dartmoor. Over 30 adults (and a few teenagers!) lowered themselves off 150 ft of granite. Some were holding on more tightly than others. And some were making more noise than others!
In the end we raised over £5,000 (yes, five thousand pounds) for the active play equipment project. That is an incredible amount, which is a testament to the superb organisation and support from everyone.
A special thanks to Jen and the team for pulling it all together, including Ruth, Mandy and Megan for doing a great shift helping out.
A huge thanks to everyone who paid to take part and raised such a great sum of money. Although we will never be able to look at Sean Mills in the same way ever again…..
And lastly, a massive thanks to Justin Nicholas of Climb South West for running the event. It was a superb operation, which I would recommend to any parent who fancies climbing or abseiling with a quality company. http://www.climbsouthwest.com/
And here us proof of my fancy dress – a Liverpool kit *yuck* – which is still making me feel ill now!
To get an idea of the height, look how small the spectators are in Anna’s photo!
