Fabulous career fair!
On Thursday afternoon, year 5 and 6 took part in a careers fair. The fair included a workshop with Ruth Taylor, a Met Office Scientist, in which we made our own anemometers in order to measure the wind. Instructions are attached if you’d like to have a go at making one at home.
Children also got to take part in a careers carousel in which they had the opportunity to ask 9 different professionals questions about their careers. Careers included a physiotherapist, graphic designer, biomedical scientist, civil engineer, fundraiser, marketing and events organiser, artist, PCSO, and business owner. It was great to see children so keen to ask questions and find out more. Many were inspired by the conversations and were busy thinking about the careers that they might enjoy in the future. Thank you so much to all of the parents who gave up their afternoons to talk to the children. Thank you also to Ruth Cheesman and Nadine Ebsworth for their help with preparing for and overseeing the afternoon.
