Uniform

We believe that the wearing of a school uniform enables children to identify with their school, gives a sense of belonging, is practical and smart, reinforces a positive work ethos and high standards, and reduces expenditure for parents.

Our uniform is affordable, simple, flexible and non-discriminatory, to comply with the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Equality Act 2010. For those in need, we provide it free of charge. Pupil Premium children can claim back the cost of any uniform expense. If pupils or parents need alternative arrangements, that can be arranged through the headteacher.

We are an eco school, and strongly encourage parents to swap and reuse uniforms. We do this termly.

Uniform:

There is no expectation that you have to have the school logo on items of uniform.

  • Mid-grey trousers, skirts or pinafore dresses.
    • No jeans, combat pants, track suits, jogging bottoms or leggings.
    • Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than knee-high.
  • Mid-grey shorts.
    • No jeans, combat pants, track suits, jogging bottoms or leggings.
  • White or grey socks, or mid-grey tights (not leggings).

  • A pair of sensible plain black shoes or plain black trainers (no fashion shoes, sandals, heels or boots of any kind).
    • We have sought advice from DCC Health and Safety team and sandals are not allowed on Health and Safety grounds. This seems sensible, as we do outdoor trips, cooking and other experiences that means footwear needs to be as safe as possible.

  • Trainers.
    • Plimsolls are not permitted as they do not offer you the correct support.
