School news 27th July 2018

What’s going on next year?

And so the Summer term ends……. Please have a look at our end of year letter.

Thank you to all the parent helpers that helped us move the library books into the new library. It was really appreciated. This means we will have a functioning library in September! The official opening is in October.

Reminders for September:

  • Please remember our packed lunch and snack policy.
    • We are seeing a lot of sugary food creep into children’s lunchboxes.
    • Remember, plain water is the best thing to fill their water bottle with.
  • The uniform policy is here. We will be having a clamp down in September.
    • Please please label all new clothes and items that you buy this Summer.
    • Footwear must be plain black.
    • Earings must be plain metal.

Not all superheroes wear capes

On Wednesday, during our Celebration Assembly at St Peter’s Church, we thanked the PTA and our regular volunteers for their amazing contribution to St Peter’s.  It is very important to stop and reflect on the impact that our PTA and regular volunteers have on the school – so many things wouldn’t happen – so many pupils would miss out on additional support – and quite simply lots of equipment and buildings wouldn’t exist without them.  We are so grateful and it is only right that we should stop to celebrate, applaud and thank these people.
Amongst our volunteers, I also want to thank our governors. They get no pay and very little recognition for all the hard work that they do. It is all behind the scenes, but very much appreciated.
We would also like to take the opportunity to also celebrate some other unsung heroes: the individuals who have transported other pupils to/from seemingly endless and sometimes far flung school sport events; the individuals who have accompanied classes on trips, visits and walks within our local community and have worn bright fluorescent bibs in public without complaint; the individuals who have always said “yes” when help has been needed; the individuals who without prompt or request helped set up and clear up after Sport Day; the individuals who have arrived at school early and stayed late; the individuals who have given their time and talent to the school without charge; the individuals who recently helped moved books for our new library when the beach was clearly a better option; the individuals who quite simply – and often without request – have come to the aid of teachers and the school as a whole. Thank you! We might not say it as often as we should – and so I will say it again – thank you!
I hope you all have a wonderful Summer holiday. See you all back here on 4th September.
